The Vision
Many Bay Area kids face challenges within their families, neighborhoods and schools without the support and direction they need. Quinn's Kids works to identify these children and provide positive experiences to bolster self confidence, offer guidance in making healthy choices and promote understanding of other individuals and communities. |
Quinn Boyer
Quinn was a 34 yr. old Oakland native who, in April 2013, lost his life during an attempted carjacking. He was a Santa Clara County paramedic, a Big Brother, a former CYO Camp counselor and had just been accepted into the Physician's Assistant program at Stanford. He and his wife, Liz Huerta Boyer, were looking forward to their first wedding anniversary.
Quinn had been a troubled teen who benefitted from his time as a CYO Camp Counselor. His experiences there helped put him on a path to a responsible and productive adult life. His family, friends and colleagues see Quinn's Kids as a fitting memorial. |
